When you had the jump sequence in Dead Space 2, that was THE moment. Each time, one simple mistake on one of the game's many, many insta-kill sections has got me. I've had three serious attempts at this so far, totaling about 17 hours together.

It's the fact that the game has so many chances for you to ban yourself from life with extreme prejudice from inanimate objects. What gets you isn't the ACTION PACKED BRIGHTLY LIT hordes of Necromorphs, oh no. Now it's this crap where the combat is so ridiculously easy on Hardcore it's likely never a threat unless you do nothing but upgrade your gun with crap gun parts and then be ridiculously inattentive. So combat still, despite its tricks, had a chance to actually, y'know, kill you. Weapons were pretty much just that, weapons, and not that of mass destruction. You get three saves (technically four) so you use them wisely.
